Atlanta Dominates Madison in Straight Sets to Clinch 2026 LOVB Playoff Berth

LOVB Atlanta put together a dominant all-around performance, sweeping LOVB Madison in straight sets 25-20, 25-20, 25-23 on its home floor. From the opening serve, Atlanta controlled the match with efficient offense, disciplined defense, and consistent execution.

The standout performance came from McKenzie Adams, who led all players with 19 points and 15 kills while hitting an outstanding .667. Adams was nearly unstoppable offensively, delivering high-percentage swings and setting the tone for Atlanta throughout the match.

Atlanta’s offense was both efficient and balanced. Magdalena Jehlárová added 12 points on an impressive .636 hitting percentage, while Ivonee Montaño contributed 11 points. Tia Jimerson chipped in 7 points, giving Atlanta multiple reliable scoring options and making it difficult for Madison to key in on any one player.

As a team, Atlanta recorded 42 kills on 93 attempts with just 7 errors, finishing with a .355 hitting efficiency. That level of precision allowed Atlanta to stay in control and avoid extended scoring runs from Madison.

Defensively, Atlanta was just as sharp. The team finished with 43 digs and an impressive 91.5% dig success rate. Adams led the way with 12 digs, while Rachel Fairbanks added 9, helping Atlanta consistently extend rallies and convert defense into offense.

On the other side, LOVB Madison struggled to find offensive consistency. Anna Haak led Madison with 9 points, while Gong Xiangyu added 8 and Temi Thomas-Ailara finished with 7. Despite some individual efforts, Madison totaled just 45 points and was unable to match Atlanta’s efficiency or depth.

Each set followed a similar script, with Atlanta establishing control early and maintaining it through strong execution. The third set proved to be the most competitive, as Madison made a late push, but Atlanta remained composed and closed out the match to complete the sweep.

With the win, Atlanta cliched a spot in the 2026 LOVB playoffs that will be played in Louisville, Kentucky.

Atlanta will look to carry this momentum into its next match as they play Madison again on April 2nd.
