Week Eight in the SEC is here, and six league games are on the Saturday, October 24 slate. Some have already kicked off, but there’s still plenty of football left to watch.
The day starts at noon on ABC, when LSU (5-2, 2-2 SEC) visits Auburn (4-2, 2-2 SEC) at Jordan-Hare Stadium. Both teams sit at 2-2 in conference play, so this one matters in the SEC standings. LSU leads the series 30-24-1 and won the last meeting 48-18 in 2023 in Baton Rouge.
At 3:30 p.m., Texas A&M (4-3, 1-3 SEC) travels to Tuscaloosa to face Alabama (5-2, 3-2 SEC) on ABC. Alabama leads the series 13-3, and the last meeting was a 26-20 Alabama win in 2023 at College Station. A&M needs a win to get its conference record back on track.
At the same time, Oklahoma (3-3, 1-2 SEC) heads to Starkville to take on Mississippi State (4-2, 2-2 SEC) on the SEC Network. It’s the first meeting between the two programs, so there’s no history to lean on, just two teams looking to move up in the standings.
Also at 3:30 p.m., Tennessee (6-1, 3-1 SEC) visits South Carolina (3-3, 1-3 SEC) on ESPN. The Vols have the better record and lead the all-time series 27-11-2. Their last meeting was a 41-20 Tennessee win in 2023 in Knoxville. South Carolina will be looking to protect its home field.
In the evening, Ole Miss (5-1, 3-1 SEC) goes to Austin to face Texas (4-2, 1-2 SEC) on ABC at 7:30 p.m. Texas leads the series 6-1, but Ole Miss won the last meeting, 44-23 in 2013 at Austin. Ole Miss comes in with the better conference record, while Texas needs a win to stay in the hunt.
The night wraps up at 7:30 p.m. on the SEC Network, where Vanderbilt (3-4, 0-4 SEC) visits Kentucky (6-1, 4-1 SEC) in Lexington. Kentucky has the better record by a wide margin, but Vanderbilt won last year’s meeting 45-17 in Nashville, so the Wildcats won’t take this one lightly. Kentucky leads the series 48-45-4.
