Clark, Miles, Mitchell, Stewart and Wilson Headline the 2026 All-WNBA First Team

The 2026 All-WNBA teams are out, and the first team has a mix of established stars and a rookie who walked in and took over. Indiana’s Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell, Minnesota’s Olivia Miles, New York’s Breanna Stewart and Las Vegas’s A’ja Wilson make up the first five.

Wilson was the headliner again. She averaged 26.2 points and 9.4 rebounds for the Aces, and the Associated Press named her its Player of the Year, her fourth AP award and a record. Stewart is the other veteran, and she and Wilson were both All-Star selections for the eighth time this summer.

Miles is the one who changes the picture. The No. 2 overall pick in this year’s draft broke Clark’s rookie scoring record and led the Lynx to the league’s best record. Making the first team as a rookie, ahead of a lot of established guards, says plenty.

Indiana is the other story. The Fever put two players on the first team, and the way each got there is different. Clark came back from a year that was cut short by injury, and the AP named her its Comeback Player of the Year. Mitchell, the franchise’s all-time leading scorer, was voted an All-Star starter for the first time this year and now has her first All-WNBA first team nod to go with it.

The second team has its own storylines. Atlanta placed two players, Angel Reese and Rhyne Howard, and both were also named to the All-Defensive First Team, along with Washington’s Shakira Austin. Reese was the AP’s Defensive Player of the Year in a breakout season in Atlanta. Austin makes the second team after finishing a close second in the Most Improved Player race. Her Mystics lost to the Dream in the first round of the playoffs, their first postseason appearance since 2019.

Dallas’s Paige Bueckers rounds out the guards. She was the top vote-getter among guards in the All-Star player vote and the fan favorite, and she’s an easy second team pick. Las Vegas’s Jackie Young joins her, which means the Aces have a player on both teams.

The league has a clear shift going on. Four of the ten players on these two teams are 24 or younger, the first team has a rookie on it, and Atlanta and Indiana each have two names. The old guard of Wilson and Stewart is still here, and they’re still performing at a high level. But the next group is coming up fast, and they’re not waiting their turn.
