The countdown to hockey season in Gwinnett is officially on. The Atlanta Gladiators have announced their 2026–27 home opener, with fans set to pack Gas South Arena on Saturday, October 17 at 7:10 p.m. for the franchise’s first home game of the season.
The matchup opponent has not yet been revealed and will be announced when the full ECHL schedule is released later this year. Still, anticipation is already building as Atlanta prepares to begin its 23rd season in Gwinnett County in front of its home crowd.
The Gladiators have turned opening night into a winning tradition in recent years. Atlanta enters the season having won five consecutive home openers dating back to 2021. The latest came on October 18, 2025, when the Gladiators defeated the Utah Grizzlies 3–2 in overtime in front of an energized crowd at Gas South Arena.
Opening night has consistently delivered one of the best atmospheres of the season for Gladiators fans, combining the return of hockey with the energy of a fresh start. Now, with another season on the horizon, Atlanta will look to keep that streak alive and open Year 23 with another statement performance on home ice.
