Gladiators Deliver Complete Effort in 3–1 Win Over Solar Bears

The Atlanta Gladiators put together a complete and disciplined performance across all three periods, using timely scoring, physical play, and strong goaltending to defeat the Orlando Solar Bears 3–1 at Gas South Arena.

The opening period featured a fast pace and a noticeable physical edge, with both teams generating early scoring opportunities while setting the tone for an intense matchup. Orlando struck first at the 9:04 mark when Luciano Wilson capitalized on a sequence created by Anthony Bardaro and Dyllan Gill, giving the Solar Bears a 1–0 lead. Atlanta responded late in the period as Jack O’Brien found the equalizer at 16:24, finishing a clean feed from Ryan Conroy to shift momentum back in the Gladiators’ favor. The period also included multiple penalties along with a fight between Dylan Carabia and Andrew Bruder, reinforcing the physical nature of the game that carried throughout the night.

In the second period, both teams continued to exchange chances, but Atlanta began to establish greater control through its defensive structure and sustained offensive pressure. While goaltenders on both ends came up with key saves, the Gladiators gradually tilted the ice and were rewarded late in the period when O’Brien scored his second goal of the night at 17:39 off an assist from Mike McNamee, giving Atlanta a 2–1 lead heading into the third.

The final period saw Atlanta take command of the pace while Orlando pushed to generate an equalizer, creating several quality chances from players like Bardaro and Cole Kodsi. Despite those opportunities, goaltender T.J. Semptimphelter remained steady in net, making timely saves that preserved the Gladiators’ lead and prevented any shift in momentum. The turning point came at 15:03 when Jarid Lukosevicius was assessed a major penalty and game misconduct for boarding, giving Atlanta a crucial opportunity to extend its advantage.

The Gladiators capitalized almost immediately on the extended power play as Alex Young scored at 15:18, finishing a well-executed sequence set up by Chad Nychuk and O’Brien to push the lead to 3–1 and put the game firmly in Atlanta’s control. From that point forward, Atlanta maintained its composure, closing out the game with disciplined defense and continued offensive pressure that limited Orlando’s ability to create clean scoring chances in the final minutes.

O’Brien led the way with two goals and an assist, playing a central role in Atlanta’s offensive success, while Young added the insurance goal and both Conroy and McNamee contributed key assists. For Orlando, Wilson accounted for the team’s lone goal in a game where sustained pressure proved difficult to maintain.

With the win, Atlanta continues to build momentum in the playoff race, showing a balanced approach built on physicality, structure, and efficient scoring. The Gladiators return to action tomorrow night at Gas South Arena against the Jacksonville Icemen, with puck drop set for 7:10 p.m.
