The Atlanta Vibe delivered a composed and complete performance on their home floor, sweeping the Orlando Valkyries in straight sets, 3–0 (25–22, 25–16, 25–20). It was a match defined by adjustments, poise under pressure, and timely execution when it mattered most.
Atlanta did not ease into the night. Orlando came out aggressive in the opening set, dictating tempo early and building a 15–11 advantage that forced the Vibe to respond. Instead of unraveling, Atlanta settled in. A key block from Leah Edmond evened the set at 15–15 and shifted the energy inside the building. From there, the Vibe leaned into extended rallies and late-set composure, navigating multiple ties before closing on their terms, 25–22.
The second set presented a different challenge but the same response. Orlando surged again, jumping out to a 5–0 lead, but Atlanta quickly reset. The Vibe began to establish rhythm offensively, with Aiko Jones and Taylor Smith leading a steady climb back into control. What followed was Atlanta’s most dominant stretch of the match, as they dictated pace, limited Orlando’s opportunities, and closed the set comfortably, 25–16.
By the third set, the match had settled into a test of consistency. Orlando fought to stay within reach early, tying the set multiple times, including at 9–9 following a point from Natalie Foster. But once again, Atlanta proved to be the steadier side. Smith and Jones continued to anchor the offense, while Kaz Brown delivered a timely block at 17–15 to maintain separation. Down the stretch, Edmond added a key attack to extend the lead, and a final swing from Moore sealed the sweep, 25–20.
What stood out most was Atlanta’s ability to respond. Each set presented early adversity, and each time the Vibe answered with control rather than urgency. Their presence at the net, balanced scoring, and late-set execution created a clear difference across all three frames.
With the win, Atlanta continues to build momentum on its home court, stacking together a performance that reflects both growth and identity.
The Vibe return to action on April 2nd, hosting the Omaha Supernovas at the Georgia State Convocation Center at 7:00 PM.
