The Atlanta Gladiators defeated the Greenville Swamp Rabbits 2–1 in overtime on Saturday night at Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville. Louis Boudon scored the overtime-winning goal as the Gladiators improved to 18–6 on the season.
The Gladiators and Swamp Rabbits met for the first game of a home-and-home before the holiday break. It was also the second game of a three-in-three stretch for Atlanta. Ethan Haider started in net for the Gladiators, while Pierce Charleson got the start for Greenville.
The first period ended scoreless, with both teams generating scoring chances. The Gladiators were called for a hooking penalty, but the penalty kill held strong. Atlanta outshot Greenville 11–8 after the opening period.
Both teams scored in the second period. Just 1:11 into the frame, Chad Nychuk came down the left wing and centered the puck to Isak Walther in front of the net. Walther finished the play for his team-leading 13th goal of the season, giving Atlanta a 1–0 lead.

Greenville tied the game late in the period. After a penalty kill, Hudson Schandor scored from the inside of the left circle with 2:23 remaining in the second. Carter Savoie and Dante Sheriff recorded the assists on the goal. Haider made a key save on Ryan O’Reilly before the period ended. Atlanta outshot Greenville 21–16 through two periods.
The third period was scoreless as physical play increased. Both teams had scoring chances, with Haider and Charleson keeping the game tied. Greenville earned a power-play opportunity in the final ten minutes of regulation, but Atlanta’s penalty kill came through again. Regulation ended with the score tied 1–1 and shots even at 29–29.
Overtime featured back-and-forth action before Atlanta secured the win. At the 3:27 mark, Walther and Nychuk won a battle along the end boards, setting up Boudon in the slot. Boudon fired a one-timer past Charleson to give the Gladiators the 2–1 overtime victory.
Haider finished with 29 saves on 30 shots for his ninth win of the season. Atlanta went 0-for-1 on the power play and 2-for-2 on the penalty kill, outshooting Greenville 31–30.
The Gladiators and Swamp Rabbits will meet again Sunday at Gas South Arena. Puck drop is scheduled for 3:10 p.m. EST.
