The Las Vegas Aces defeated the Indiana Fever 94-83 in Game 3 on Thursday night, winning the first-round series 2-1 and advancing to the WNBA semifinals.
A’ja Wilson led all scorers with 36 points and 10 rebounds, shooting 11-of-18 from the field and 12-of-15 at the free throw line. Chelsea Gray added 23 points and five assists, and Jackie Young finished with 18 points, eight rebounds and seven assists. The three combined for 77 of the 94 Las Vegas points.
“They’re called the Big Three for a reason, and I had to ride them tonight,” Aces head coach Becky Hammon said.
Las Vegas played without Stephanie Talbot, a game-time decision who was ruled out before tipoff. Jewell Loyd started in her place and scored 11 points with three 3-pointers.
The first quarter ended tied at 31. The Aces outscored the Fever 23-17 in the second quarter to lead 54-48 at halftime. Indiana won the third quarter 17-16 to pull within 70-65, but Las Vegas closed with a 24-18 fourth quarter. After scoring 31 points in the opening quarter, the Fever were held to 52 over the final three.
Kelsey Mitchell led Indiana with 23 points. Aliyah Boston had 19 points and 10 rebounds, and Caitlin Clark scored 18 points with four assists. Myisha Hines-Allen added 12 points and 12 rebounds off the bench.
The Fever shot 38.5% from the field and went 9-of-32 from 3-point range while outscoring the Aces 36-22 in the paint. Las Vegas shot 45.3% and made 28 of 35 free throws, compared to 14 of 20 for Indiana.

Wilson was asked afterward about moving past an incident with a fan during Game 2 in Indiana two nights earlier, when she received a technical foul.
“I prayed a lot. I cried a lot. I talked to a lot of different people, and the amount of love that I received today, the amount of Bible verses that I received today, it reminded me that I’m covered,” Wilson said.
Asked whether this is still her era, the reigning MVP pointed to her teammates.
“I don’t know if it’s the A’ja era. I don’t even really think I want to call it that, because it’s not just on me,” Wilson said. “It’s my teammates that really help me be who I am.”
Las Vegas will face the winner of the Golden State-Dallas series in the semifinals.
