The Indiana Pacers defended their home court and made a statement in Game 3 of their playoff series, defeating the Oklahoma City Thunder 116–107 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. With the win, the Pacers now lead the series 2–1 and gain crucial momentum heading into Game 4.
A Tale of Two Halves
Indiana got off to a slow start, trailing 32–24 after the first quarter, but flipped the script in the second. Led by strong ball movement and sharp perimeter shooting, the Pacers poured in 40 points in the second quarter to take a 64–60 lead into halftime.
Oklahoma City clawed back in the third, outscoring Indiana 29–20 and entering the final quarter up by one. But the Pacers responded with urgency, tightening up defensively and outscoring the Thunder 32–18 in the fourth quarter to seal the win.
Depth and Defense Power Indiana
The Pacers’ bench was a major factor, outpacing Oklahoma City’s reserves and providing key production in the fourth. Bennedict Mathurin exploded for a team-high 27 points in just 22 minutes, shooting 9-for-12 from the field and 7-for-8 from the line. Tyrese Haliburton was the engine once again, finishing with 22 points and 11 assists, orchestrating the offense with pace and precision.
Pascal Siakam added 21 points and 6 rebounds, showing his playoff experience, while T.J. McConnell chipped in with 10 points and 5 assists in only 15 minutes of action.
Defensively, Indiana was locked in—recording 13 steals and 11 blocks, turning 17 Thunder turnovers into transition points and timely buckets.
Thunder’s Late Struggles
Despite strong performances from their stars, the Thunder couldn’t close. Jalen Williams led all OKC scorers with 26 points and 6 rebounds. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander added 24 points and 8 rebounds, while Chet Holmgren notched a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds.
However, the Thunder struggled from deep (9-for-26, 35%) and were outplayed in the final stretch, managing just 18 points in the fourth quarter after scoring at least 28 in each of the first three.
What’s Next
Game 4 is now a must-win for the Thunder, who hope to avoid going down 3–1 before heading back to Oklahoma City. For Indiana, another home victory would put them in control of the series and one step closer to advancing.
