The Speedy Turtles delivered a gutsy, hard-fought performance Friday morning but came up just short in a 4–3 loss to Streetball FC Canada in Target Score time at The Soccer Tournament (TST).

It was a fast and fearless start for the Turtles, with Olivia Taylor opening the scoring in the second minute off a sharp assist from Meg Morris. Not long after, Sarah Martin extended the lead to 2–0, finishing a well-worked play assisted by Sabrina Barata.
Streetball FC Canada clawed one back before halftime to make it 2–1, and the second half unfolded as a tense, back-and-forth battle. Streetball tied the game early in the half, but the Turtles responded in the 35th minute when Larissa Fagundes slotted home a goal assisted by Monigo Karnley. The 3–2 lead held briefly before Streetball equalized again just two minutes later.
With regulation ending in a 3–3 tie, the match moved into TST’s signature Target Score period, where the first team to reach four goals would secure the win. It was Streetball’s Ella Sunde who found the breakthrough in the 52nd minute, handing the Turtles a heartbreaking defeat.
The stat sheet tells the story of a determined team effort. The Speedy Turtles outshot Streetball 16–12, generated seven corner kicks, and earned assists on all three of their goals. Kyleigh Hall made three saves in goal, and the defense, led by Amy Neal, fought through every minute.
While the loss moves the Turtles to 0–2 in group play, the team’s chemistry, fight, and execution continue to impress on the TST stage.

Their final group stage match kicks off tonight at 8:00 PM EDT against Albion SC, streaming live on YouTube. Win, lose, or draw—expect the Speedy Turtles to bring passion, pace, and pride to every play.
