The Atlanta Dream closed out their West Coast road trip with a 78-71 victory over the Los Angeles Sparks on Monday night at Crypto.com Arena, improving to 25-13 on the season and completing a 3-0 sweep of Los Angeles this season.
Atlanta led 20-15 after the first quarter before Los Angeles responded with a 22-16 second quarter to take a 37-36 lead into halftime. The Dream regained control in the third, outscoring the Sparks 26-18, and carried a 62-55 advantage into the fourth. Both teams scored 16 points in the final period, allowing Atlanta to secure the seven-point victory.
The Dream were led by Allisha Gray, who finished with 20 points, three rebounds and six assists. Rhyne Howard added 18 points, six rebounds, three assists and a steal, while Naz Hillmon contributed 12 points, seven rebounds and a block. Jordin Canada finished with nine points, four rebounds, four assists and a steal.
But the biggest night belonged to Angel Reese.
Reese recorded a career-high 26 rebounds, the most ever by a player in a single game in WNBA history. She also finished with 11 points and three assists, three steals and 26 rebounds. Her 26-rebound performance helped Atlanta dominate the glass, as the Dream finished with 48 total rebounds compared with 32 for Los Angeles.
Reese also made history by reaching 452 total rebounds for the season, surpassing A’ja Wilson’s previous WNBA single-season record of 451 set in 2024. Monday marked Reese’s 27th double-double of the season, leaving her two shy of breaking the current WNBA single-season double-double record.
Atlanta controlled the paint throughout the game, scoring 48 points inside compared with 38 for the Sparks. The Dream also held a 9-2 advantage in second-chance points.
Gray added another milestone to Atlanta’s night. With her 247th made field goal of the season, she established a new Atlanta Dream single-season franchise record for field goals made. She also recorded her 19th 20-point game of the season.
Howard reached another career milestone, officially eclipsing 3,000 career points.
The Dream’s starting lineup of Jordin Canada, Allisha Gray, Rhyne Howard, Naz Hillmon and Angel Reese moved to 25-8 when starting together.
For Los Angeles, Nneka Ogwumike led all scorers with 27 points and added 16 rebounds. Dearica Hamby scored 15 points, while Cameron Brink finished with 15 points and eight rebounds. Ariel Atkins added 10 points and six assists.
Atlanta’s victory also moved the franchise’s all-time record against the Sparks to 28-20 overall and 13-12 on the road.
The Dream now leave Los Angeles with a 78-71 victory and another historic performance from Reese as they continue their season at 25-13.
