BRITTNEY SYKES AND ANEESAH MORROW TO MISS REMAINDER OF 2026 WNBA SEASON DUE TO INJURY

The Toronto Tempo announced today that guard Brittney Sykes and forward Aneesah Morrow will both miss the remainder of the 2026 WNBA season following injuries sustained during the team’s August 21 game versus the Portland Fire.

Sykes suffered a left foot injury, while Morrow sustained a left knee injury. Neither will need surgery and both are expected to make a full recovery, though not before the end of the regular season.

Through the 17 games she has played this season, Sykes averaged 18.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.2 steals, playing the best basketball of her career. Prior to a separate injury sustained earlier this season, Sykes was 6th in the league in points per game (20.1) and is currently tied for fifth in the league in 30+ point games this season (3).

In her seven games played since joining the Tempo on July 31 from the Connecticut Sun, Morrow has been averaging 9.3 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 19.4 minutes per game. She has recorded 10 double doubles in 2026, the 8th most in the league this season, and recently achieved 500 career rebounds.
