he Atlanta Dream return to Gateway Center Arena Monday night for a matchup with the Toronto Tempo, looking to bounce back from their most recent loss and continue their push toward the postseason.
Atlanta enters the game 19-12 overall and 11-5 at home, while Toronto comes in at 10-21. Monday’s contest is the Dream’s 32nd regular-season game and their 17th home game of the season.
The Dream have had the upper hand throughout the season series, winning all three meetings with Toronto. Atlanta defeated the Tempo 102-77 on June 14, 94-87 on June 22 and 111-92 on July 17.
Atlanta’s Backcourt Leads the Way
Jordin Canada continues to direct one of the league’s top offenses. The veteran guard is averaging 11.3 points, 3.7 rebounds and 7.5 assists per game and leads the WNBA in assists.
Canada has already established a new Atlanta single-season record with 227 assists, while recording seven games with at least 10 assists and six double-doubles this season.
Allisha Gray enters Monday averaging 19.1 points per game, ranking second on the team in scoring. Gray has recorded 10 games with at least 20 points this season, including a season-high 29 points against Chicago on July 19.
Rhyne Howard is averaging 17.3 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.4 steals per game. Howard leads the league in total steals and steals per game and continues to be a major presence on both ends of the court.
Reese Continues Dominant Rebounding Season
Angel Reese has been one of Atlanta’s biggest contributors in her first season with the Dream. She enters Monday averaging 15.7 points and 11.8 rebounds per game, while recording 21 double-doubles this season.
Reese has also been particularly effective against Toronto. She has recorded 17 rebounds in a game against the Tempo this season, including 11 offensive rebounds.
Reese and Howard were also recently selected to represent the United States at the 2026 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup in Berlin. The selections make them the first two Atlanta Dream players to simultaneously represent the franchise on a U.S. 5-on-5 World Cup or Olympic roster.
Hillmon Coming Off Historic Performance Against Toronto
Naz Hillmon could also play an important role after her historic performance in Atlanta’s most recent matchup with Toronto.
On July 17, Hillmon scored a career-high 24 points on a perfect 8-for-8 shooting, including 4-for-4 from three-point range and 4-for-4 from the free-throw line. Her performance established a Dream franchise record for most made field goals without a miss.
Hillmon is averaging 9.1 points and 4.3 rebounds this season.
Tempo Looking to Challenge Atlanta
Toronto is averaging 87.4 points per game this season while shooting 44.7% from the field and 35.7% from three-point range. The Tempo are also averaging 20.2 assists per game.
Marina Mabrey will be one of the players to watch for Toronto. She scored 26 points against Atlanta on July 17 and had 14 points in the first quarter of that matchup.
Atlanta enters the game averaging 89.0 points per game while allowing 85.7. The Dream also hold an advantage on the boards, averaging 34.9 rebounds per game compared with 31.2 for Toronto.
The Dream will be without Te-Hina Paopao, who is listed as out with a right-leg injury.
With the Dream looking to rebound from their latest loss, Atlanta will have another opportunity to build momentum against a Toronto team it has already defeated three times this season.
