The Washington Mystics extended their winning streak to seven games with a 95-75 victory over the Phoenix Mercury on Sunday at CareFirst Arena. The win improved Washington to 19-12 on the season and 5-0 since returning from the All-Star break.
Washington took a 21-20 lead after the first quarter before outscoring Phoenix 29-17 in the second quarter to take a 50-37 advantage into halftime. The Mystics continued to build their lead in the third quarter, outscoring the Mercury 23-14, and entered the fourth with a 73-51 advantage. Phoenix scored 24 points in the final period, but Washington closed out the 20-point victory.
The seven-game winning streak is the longest active streak in the WNBA and the second-longest in Mystics franchise history. Washington’s franchise-record winning streak is eight games, set from July 31 through Aug. 17, 2018.
Five Mystics players scored in double figures. Shakira Austin and Sonia Citron each finished with 19 points, while Cotie McMahon and Michaela Onyenwere scored 13 apiece and Kiki Iriafen added 12.
Austin recorded a double-double with 19 points on 8-of-16 shooting and 11 rebounds, along with one block. It was her 14th double-double of the season and the 28th of her career. Austin also extended her streak to four consecutive games with at least 15 points and 10 rebounds.
Citron added four rebounds, six assists and two steals while shooting 7-of-9 from the field and matching her career high with five made three-pointers on six attempts. Her performance marked her second career game with at least 15 points, five assists and two steals.
Onyenwere finished with 13 points on 5-of-8 shooting, including 3-of-6 from three-point range. Her three made three-pointers brought her 2026 total to 39, surpassing her previous high of 37 set in 2021.
McMahon led Washington’s reserves with 13 points on 4-of-8 shooting. It was her sixth game with at least 10 points and her third consecutive such performance.
Iriafen finished with 12 points and nine rebounds and reached 1,000 career points during the game. She became the seventh-fastest player in Mystics franchise history to reach the milestone, doing so in her 72nd career game.
Georgia Amoore recorded six assists, marking her 10th game this season with at least five assists. She has led or co-led a game 10 times this season.
Washington shot 50.0% from the field, making 36 of 72 attempts. The Mystics also made a season-high 11 three-pointers, matched their season-high with 11 steals and finished with 40 rebounds to 33 for Phoenix. Washington also committed just eight turnovers compared with 16 by the Mercury.
The Mystics scored 42 points in the paint, extending their streak to eight consecutive games with at least 40 points in the paint, the longest such streak in franchise history. Washington also recorded its 15th game this season with at least 40 rebounds and its 27th game outrebounding its opponent, both leading marks in the WNBA this season.
Phoenix was led by Kahleah Copper with 15 points. Noemie Brochant added 13, while DeWanna Bonner and Alyssa Thomas each finished with 10 points. Thomas also had 10 rebounds and six assists.
The 95 points marked Washington’s largest victory of the season by margin, with the 20-point differential also representing the team’s largest margin since a 37-point win on June 8, 2025.
