Now Recruiting WNBA Contributing Beat Writers

As KB Sports Media continues to expand its WNBA coverage, we are seeking passionate, reliable contributors to help cover teams across the league.

We are currently recruiting beat writers for the following teams:

• Chicago Sky
• Golden State Valkyries
• Las Vegas Aces
• Los Angeles Sparks
• Washington Mystics

Position: Contributing Beat Writer (Volunteer)

This is a volunteer position for individuals who are passionate about women’s basketball and sports journalism. Contributors will have the opportunity to build their portfolio, receive published bylines, and gain hands-on experience covering a WNBA team while helping expand KB Sports Media’s league-wide coverage.

This position is ideal for aspiring sports journalists, students, recent graduates, content creators, or experienced writers who are passionate about covering the WNBA.

Responsibilities

• Cover your assigned WNBA team throughout the season.
• Attend pregame and postgame media availability (virtual or in person, when approved).
• Write pregame previews, game recaps, and feature stories.
• Monitor team news, transactions, and storylines.
• Meet editorial deadlines and maintain professional communication with team PR staff.

Opportunity for Growth

This role is designed as an entry point into our newsroom.

Contributors who consistently produce high-quality work, meet deadlines, and demonstrate professionalism may be considered for advancement to a Credentialed Beat Reporter role, with opportunities to attend games, practices, and additional media events as credentials become available.

With approximately 20 games remaining this season, selected contributors will have the opportunity to establish themselves now and continue covering their assigned team into the 2027 WNBA season.

• Prior sports writing experience is a plus but is not required.
