Dream Use Balanced Offensive Attack to Defeat Sparks 101-92

The Atlanta Dream continued to show why they are one of the WNBA’s most balanced teams Monday night, placing six players in double figures and controlling the paint in a 101-92 victory over the Los Angeles Sparks at Gateway Center Arena.

With the win, Atlanta improved to 14-10 on the season while moving to 26-20 all-time against Los Angeles, including 15-8 at home. The Dream’s starting lineup of Jordin Canada, Allisha Gray, Rhyne Howard, Naz Hillmon, and Angel Reese also continued its impressive run, improving to 14-6 together.

Atlanta established control early, taking a 59-48 lead into halftime behind an aggressive inside attack. The Dream finished with 54 points in the paint, 21 bench points, 16 second-chance points, and 16 fast-break points, consistently creating high-percentage opportunities throughout the game.

Reese once again delivered a dominant performance, recording 23 points and 13 rebounds for her 16th double-double of the season, the most in the WNBA. Reese also contributed two assists and three steals while going a perfect 8-for-8 from the free-throw line.

Gray added another standout performance with 20 points, marking her 11th 20-point game of the season. She connected on three shots from beyond the arc while adding two assists and two steals.

Canada continued to direct Atlanta’s offense with 16 points and nine assists, bringing her season total to 177 assists, the second-most in a single season in Dream franchise history through 24 games.

Atlanta’s starting five all reached double figures:

• Angel Reese: 23 points, 13 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals
• Allisha Gray: 20 points, 1 rebound, 2 assists, 2 steals
• Jordin Canada: 16 points, 3 rebounds, 9 assists, 2 steals
• Rhyne Howard: 11 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals
• Naz Hillmon: 10 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists

The Dream also received valuable production from the bench. Isobel Borlase scored 10 points, while Madina Okot added 9 points, 6 rebounds, one assist, and one steal in fewer than 10 minutes of action.

Los Angeles was led by Erica Wheeler’s 20 points, Nneka Ogwumike’s 19 points, and Rae Burrell’s 18 points, but Atlanta’s defense forced 18 Sparks turnovers, converting them into 21 points.

The Dream also dominated on the glass, outrebounding the Sparks 35-25, a key emphasis entering the matchup. Combined with their efficiency in the paint and balanced scoring, Atlanta maintained control for much of the night to secure its 14th victory of the season.

As the playoff race continues to intensify, Monday’s performance was another example of the formula that has made Atlanta successful: balanced scoring, strong interior play, and contributions throughout the roster.
