Atlanta Vibe Fall in Straight Sets Again as Issues Persist

The Atlanta Vibe entered their matchup against the Omaha Supernovas looking to shift the tone of their season. Instead, they left with more questions than answers.

Atlanta came in on a two-match losing streak, having been swept in both outings without winning a single set. Early on, there were signs of a response. That shift carried into the second set, where the match quickly unraveled for Atlanta. The Supernovas opened on a 12–3 run and never looked back. The Vibe struggled to find rhythm, committing errors and showing visible lapses in communication and focus. The result was a lopsided 25–11 loss. After the match, Edmond did not hold back, calling the performance “embarrassing,” while also emphasizing the responsibility of continuing to lead and motivate through adversity.

The third set followed a similar pattern. Atlanta stayed close early at 4–3 but could not sustain any momentum. Omaha created separation quickly, building a 20–8 advantage that effectively put the match out of reach. The Vibe dropped the final set 25–14, marking their third consecutive straight-set loss.

Atlanta finished with 34 kills and just one block, a number that underscored one of the night’s biggest issues. At the net, the Vibe were consistently outmatched, while Omaha recorded 14 blocks and controlled the defensive tempo throughout.

Atlanta will now look to regroup as they prepare to face the Grand Rapids Rise on Wednesday at 7 p.m. EDT, searching for answers as the pressure continues to build.
