After Wednesday’s practice, KB Sports Media caught up with Atlanta Gladiators forward Louis Boudon to discuss the team’s strong start to the season and what it will take to keep the momentum going as they prepare for another two game road trip this weekend.
Staying Composed Through a Hot Start
The Gladiators sit at 8 and 1, leading the league thanks to a combination of chemistry, grit, and discipline. Boudon said while the start has been impressive, the team’s success comes down to staying calm in critical moments.
“We’ve just been finding a way to win those one goal games,” Boudon said. “Momentum has been on our side, and we’ve been able to capitalize when it matters most.”
That composure has helped the Gladiators pull out multiple overtime and tight victories early in the year.
“Even if we’re down one or up one, we just stick to our game,” Boudon added. “Someone always seems to step up and get us ahead.”
Keys for the Road
Atlanta is back on the road for the second straight weekend, facing the South Carolina Stingrays on Friday and the Jacksonville Icemen on Saturday. Boudon said the focus will be on execution and staying sharp in all phases.
“It’ll be a different story on the road,” he said. “We’ve got to get our legs under us early, keep things simple, and get our power play going. The penalty kill has been great, and we just need to stay strong five on five and be opportunistic.”
Fuel From the Fans
In his first year with the Gladiators, Boudon credited the fans at Gas South Arena for helping power the team’s home success.
“It’s been phenomenal,” he said. “Even the kids’ game was really loud. The fans have been amazing, and they’ve been a big part of our success.”
The Gladiators are 4-1-1 at home heading into the weekend and look to build on that momentum as they continue their strong early season form away from Gas South Arena.
